Rising Clouds: A Hotel-Style Residential Design

Located in the high-rise building of Linkou, Taipei, Rising Clouds stands out with its large public spaces and a spacious terrace that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The design team, led by Guan-Ying Lee and Wei-Hua Hung, aimed to create a treasure land where families can enjoy quality time together and create beautiful memories.

The living room area welcomes residents with a warm and earthy color scheme, complemented by metal construction materials and ornaments that add a touch of elegance. The wall is treated with special Malay lacquer, creating unique textures that showcase different aesthetics from every angle. Solid wood elements are cleverly incorporated throughout the design, infusing the space with a comforting aroma.

A sculptural wall behind the work table serves as both a bookcase and a wine display, inspired by the imagery of mountains. With a width of nearly 5 meters, the design team paid special attention to structural support and aesthetics. When illuminated, the wall resembles sunlight penetrating through mountains, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.

The restaurant area immerses residents in a natural ambiance reminiscent of beautiful mountains and rivers. The cabinets feature a combination of deep and light veneer, while a chandelier shaped like petals adds a touch of elegance. The metal texture enhances the overall aesthetic, creating a sparkling effect when sunlight or moonlight refracts through the space.

The stairwell showcases a stunning dry mountain scenery, with wooden and stone walls on either side. This unique feature allows residents to enjoy the beauty of nature while indulging in delicious cuisine.

With a total area of 413.225m2, Rising Clouds offers a well-planned and comfortable living space that seamlessly integrates natural elements into every corner of the home. The design team successfully created a hotel-style residential design that caters to the needs of the entire family.

Rising Clouds was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020 for its outstanding creativity and ingenious design. This prestigious award recognizes designs that exemplify experience, resourcefulness, and best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
